Scattering Ceremony
As long as it is permitted by local regulations,
you may have a scattering ceremony in a place that is meaningful
to you. We simply need a 200' x 200' square open area to inflate
the balloon.
If you wish to be scattered somewhere, it is therefore
important to discuss your wishes ahead of time with the person
or persons who will actually have to do the scattering ceremony,
as they might want to let your funeral professional assist in
the scattering ceremony. The services can be as formal or informal
as you like. Services can also be public or private.
Scattering Questions
Where should I scatter?
As with cremation, when it comes to scattering there are many
options. If the location is on private property you should seek
permission of the owner. If it is on public land you should check
local regulations.
Hot Air Balloon Scattering:
Done by our professional commercial pilot, who has been a ordained
Minister since 2001, the ashes are cast from our Hot Air Balloon.
Z-Balloon Adventures will coordinate with your ceremony to fly
over and cast the ashes at a specified place and time. On clear
days a cloud of ash can be seen from the ground. We will will
provide a certificate of the place and time of the scattering.
Passengers can also choose to attend the scattering for an extra
fee.
